Tuberculosis continues to be as a global health problem, till now. According to the global TB report 2020, TB causes ill health among millions of people. WHO recently released an update information on leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Globally, an estimated 10 million people develop TB. In Bangladesh according to the Global TB report 2020, (292942) TB patients were notified to NTP on, 2019. Incidence rate from all form of TB is 221per 1000,00 population and TB mortality is 24 per 100000 population. The government of Bangladesh along with its many and diverse partner from the public and private sector working hard to meet the “End TB Strategy”. To accelerate the activity CFCS is the Stop TB Partnership grant mechanism working on TB incorporate it to promote and protect human right and gender equality.

 

Working Area:

NM has been selected 16 wards (DNCC- 20, 21, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 AND DSCC- 45,46,47,48,49,50,51,74) under 5 DOTS Center in Dhaka North City Corporation (Nari Maitree) – Maghbazar (1), Mohammadpur (2), Mohakhali (1) and Gandara (1), CWFD office of Dhaka South City Corporation.

Services for the Stop TB Partnership Challenge Facility for Civil Society responding to the devastating impact of COVID-19

Vision of the Project:

Our project will raise awareness among 30% people among 13.1 million people Of Dhaka North (6.1 million) & South City Corporation (7.1 million) on prevention and management of COVID-19 and among TB suspected people in community, and make the health system more responsive through pragmatic innovative solutions for improved referral and adherence to TB treatment during the pandemic.

 

Objective

  • To mobilize, empower and meaningfully engage female slum dwellers to engage in the design, delivery and monitoring of the TB response in four areas in Dhaka city (Mohakhali, Maghbazer, Mohammadpur and Dhalpur).
  • Improved referral to TB and COVID services, using a gender transformative, community-driven response to TB in four areas in Dhaka city (Mohakhali, Maghbazer, Mohammadpur and Dhalpur) in Bangladesh.
  • Improved treatment outcomes for TB and COVID 19 outcomes, using a gender transformative, community-driven response to TB in four areas in Dhaka city in Bangladesh
  • To participate and engage in TB advocacy and accountability initiatives at nationals, Regionals and global levels.

Expected Outcomes

  • To enhance their self-awareness, confidence and empowerment, Improved empowerment through increased awareness about their rights and screening of particular presumptive
  • To enhance their self-awareness, confidence and empowerment.
  • Increase awareness among a part of population about COVID 19 and Tuberculosis, early diagnosis them and give them specific referral approach
  • Like a snowball approach the information about COVID 19 and TB is received by a part of people in Bangladesh and make them concern of the disease prevention.

 

Expected Outputs

  • Involve a number of community female slum volunteer, give them training and provide information about TB and COVID 19 so that they can circulate the information among general population
  • Arrange some budgetary and Non-budgetary program to accelerate the program. Like- arrange volunteer training and give them a short field survey, court yard meeting, Telemedicine, audio-visual program, leader meeting etc.
