Nari Maitree is a Non-Government Women Development Organization established in 1983 by a group of Women activists in order to building up the capacity of women, adolescents and children of both rural and urban for establishing their rights in the family as well as in the society.

Nari Maitree started its program of capacity building of the women, children and adolescents and provided them with formal and non-formal education. It is gradually included other priority areas such as public health including reproductive health, STD/RTI and HIV/AIDS and assistance program for adolescent girls and women. With the change in development paradigm and shift Nari Maitree has transformed itself from service delivery approach to right based approaches.
