A 42 yrs old female housewife, “Layla Ishlam” lives with her family in 16/A, Noorjahan Road Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her life was going well with her husbands, children’s and other family members. Suddenly she develops cough, fever and left cervical gland swealing and loss of weight. Her husband and Daughter also have the history of TB.
After consulting with health professional her body weight deteriorates with her mental depression. Her family member suspected different. She contacts with Nearby Nari Maitree TB DOTS center.
Dots centers paramedics advised them to visit nearby TB diagnostic center. Her Chest Xray, sputum for Gene X-pert and FNAC for cervical Lymph node with tissue from lymph node gene x-pert is done. And she diagnosed as an Extra Pulmonary MDR TB patients. After hearing that she was downfall in herself with some discrimination in the surrounding context.
She has the hesitation to start the treatment, as the treatment is for 9 months. Nari Maitree staff is aware about her condition and took initiating involvement to their role. Paramedic did his through counseling about the disease and brief about her disease condition to her and her family member. Guide her how to cope with it along with ensure her that Nari Maitree will stay with her. After that she start her treatment and continue with success. Now she completed her treatment with accurately and live a happy and healthy life. After completing her treatment, she showed her gratitude towards Nari Maitree and give appreciation our staffs work. She also ensures us she will definitely send the persons who needs Nari Maitree’s help regarding TB.
