Through the partnership of Nari Maitree and Educo the project “Adolescent and Youth as an Agent of Change to Promote a Progressive Society (A&Y Development)” started in 20 different places of Dhaka South and North City Corporation from 22^nd February. Youth and adolescents from marginalized community were the direct participants in this program. According to the design of the project, there will be 20 youth clubs in 20 places in Dhaka where each group will have 50 members, a total of 1000 adolescents and youth. These groups will include the Executive Committee and the Child Protection Committee, both of which will be led by youth members. Each youth group will hold an annual planning meeting at the beginning of the year, where they will analyze what they will do, when they will do it, how they will work to improve their skills and community development throughout the year, and who the stakeholders will be. The youth will also receive training on life skills, celebrate observation days of income-generating training, set up resource centers for their clubs, organize annual sports competitions, cultural events and dialogues with departmental officials involved at the district level. According to the plan of the project, we believe that these youths will contribute to the positive change of the society. They will play a major role in ensuring for community people access to public services.
