Nari Maitree arranged a book reading competition on 15 November, 2023 at Chinnomul Govt. Primary School. Here attend more than 100 students of 20 Govt. Primary School and Community school of Dhaka North and South City Corporation. Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur thana Asst. Education Officer Tanzina Sharmin Mishory and Mahmuda Begum were play important role to identify the best competitor among these students. They were role as Judgment. Chinnomul Govt. Primary School head teacher Nasrin Akter, Other’s school Head teachers, Nari Maitree staff and Community Resource Teachers (CRT) were also presented the book reading competition.
Tanzina Sharmin Mishory (ATEO, Dhanmondi Thana) said that “This is a good initiative to enhance the knowledge level of the students. I am very happy to join this program. I will discuss with Govt. Official to take this initiative for apply the Govt. Primary School. Thanks Nari Maitree and Educo Bangladesh for this initiative. I hope that it will be continued.”
Mahmuda Begum (ATEO, Mohammadpur Thana) said that “In the grand world of knowledge, book reading competition is the exercise that repeats the importance of each word, turning pages into pathways and transforming minds into marvels. In this competition of enlightenment, every book becomes a contender, and every reader, a champion of understanding and growth.”
We know book reading competitions play an important role in fostering a culture of literacy and intellectual engagement. These competitions serve as platforms for individuals to showcase their reading skills, comprehension abilities, motivate oneself and critical thinking. They promote a love for literature, instrumental in promoting literacy, critical thinking, and a sense of community, thereby contributing to the overall intellectual and personal development of participants.
