HIV-AIDS Prevention
 
Nari Maitree has a wide range of experience on HIV-AIDS, STD, FP, SRH and HN working with high risk and vulnerable groups especially street based sex worker since 1996. NM started working with brothel based and street based floating sex workers, clients and pimps. Relevant strengths are mobilizing youth, adolescent and children, action research and situation analysis on child sex workers, advocacy and sensitization with power structure, psychosocial counseling, behavior change communications and conducted training on reproductive health for garment workers.
 
 
Nari Maitree has been implemented several projects based on prevention and protection of HIV/AIDS and STD. NM is operating DIC based activities for floating street based sex workers in Comilla, Feni and Chandpur districts. NM has also implemented several activities such as, one to one counseling, group counseling, condom promotion for safe sex, develop peer educator and provide training to them, clinical and referral services and distributed BCC and IEC materials, advocacy meeting/workshop with the law enforcing agencies, religious and community leaders. Besides this, NM also provided VCT services for street based sex workers. Nari Maitree not only works for prevention but also works on rehabilitation and empowers the high-risk population of our society, especially on brothel based and street based sex workers through implementing different projects.
