Disaster Risk Reduction:
 
Bangladesh is situated in the northeast part of South Asia . The Bay of Bengal is on the south of Bangladesh . So geographically, Bangladesh is a disaster - prone area. Rains, Storm, earthquake, flood, cold wave, tidal bore and occasional tornado are a part of life. Whenever any sort of disaster is occurred, Nari Maitree step forward to helps the affected people by standing beside them. Nari Maitree has been working on disaster since 1988. To combat the disaster, NM has a nine member based disaster wing in Head quarter for coordinating and smoothly operating and implementing the disaster related activities. Under this wing, following activities are implemented that describe below:
 
Develop policy, concept paper, project proposal and action plan
Conduct survey among the disaster affected people
Provide disaster preparedness and management training for staffs, children and community
  people
Maintain liaison with different aid and disaster related organization for relief and technical
  assistance
Prepare Reports and audit the relief and disaster related activities

Production of saline during disaster period

Organize shelter home in school premises during disaster(flood)
