Nari Maitree (NM) -- Women's Solidarity - is a non-governmental and non-profitable voluntary organization was founded in 1983 with a mission to empower the disadvantaged and vulnerable women, adolescents and children characterized by slum dwellers and pavement dwellers, Street, Hotel and Brothel based sex workers and their children, child labour, including ethnic minority groups for establishing their rights in the family and as well as in the society.

Gradually Nari Maitree has grown up as one of the largest national NGOs, Being registered under NGO Affairs Bureau and Dept of women Affairs, GOB, Nari Maitree's need-based and rights-based programming focuses on integrated participatory community development in the field of Non-formal Education, Skill Development Training, Health and Family Planning, Nutrition, Water and Sanitation, Disaster Risk Reduction, Trafficking against women and children, HIV-AIDS, Micro-Credit, Human Rights and Empowerment, Gender development, Eradication of Hazardous Child labour etc. NM has ongoing 18 projects being implemented by its 457 (Female 304 and Male 153) skilled and committed staffs including 252 Volunteers and 200 Peer Educators. and reaches to 28,00,000 beneficiaries across the country sponsored by different, Govt. UN Org. & INGOs.
